Teledyne Ryan Site

The former Teledyne Ryan facility occupies approximately 47 acres on the south side of the San Diego International Airport. The facility is a landmark in San Diego history. Some of the achievements at the facility include a significant amount of research and aeronautical engineering, the fabrication of Apache attack helicopters and the development and construction of many unmanned drones used for aerial surveillance.

Services provided by JVB included site investigation, building assessment survey of the 50 buildings on site, construction cost estimating and project management.

Buildings at the facility were built over the last 60 years. The first one (Building 120) was built in approximately 1939. The facility was in operation until 1999 and was owned and operated by Teledyne Ryan Aeronautical. Activities ongoing at the time the facility closed included administrative and laboratory operations, and various storage, machine shop and manufacturing operations.
